3. Ireen Wust (2006-2022)

Irene Karlijn Wust from the Netherlands is the most decorated and successful speed skating Olympian with a total tally of 13 medals (6 Gold, 5 Silver, 2 Bronze). She is both the youngest (Gold at 19) and the oldest (Gold at 35) speed skating gold medalist in the history of the Winter Games. She has won gold in five consecutive Olympics.

4. Bjorn Daehlie (1988-1998)

Bjorn Daehlie from Norway is one of the greatest cross-country skiers of all time with a total medal tally of 12 (8 Gold, 4 Silver). He has won more medals than any other cross-country skier at the Winter Games. He took premature retirement in 2001 after a roller skiing accident.

8. Lyubov Yegorova (1992-2002)

Lyubov Ivanovna Yegorova from Russia is a former cross-country Winter Olympic Ski Champion with a total medal tally of 9 including 6 Gold and 3 Silver medals. She was banned from sports in 1997 after testing positive for a stimulant that masks the presence of performance-enhancing drugs. She returned to the 2002 Olympics but did not win any medals.

9. Claudia Pechstein (1992-2006)

Claudia Pechstein from Germany is one of the most decorated speed skaters ever in the Winter Olympics with a total medal tally of 9 medals (5 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze). Claudia Pechstein is the first female Winter Olympian to win medals in five consecutive Olympics. She was involved in a controversy in 2009 when she was banned for two years for doping. She has challenged the compensation against that ban and the final decision is still pending.

10. Sixten Jernberg (1956-1964)

Edy Sixten Jernberg from Sweden was one of the most successful cross-country skiers with a total medal tally of 9 (4 Gold, 3 Silver, 2 Bronze).
