1. Michael Phelps (2000-2016)

Michael Fred Phelps from the United States is the most renowned and decorated swimmer of all time with a total of 28 medals including 23 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals. No athlete in the entire history of the Olympics has ever won even half of these gold medals and this achievement made him invisible and greatest.

2.Larisa Latynina (1956-1964)

Larisa Semyonovna Latynina from the former Soviets, an artistic gymnast with a tally of a total of 18 Olympic medals (9 gold, 5 Silver, and 4 bronze) takes the second spot. Her 18 medals count was a record till 2012 when Michael Phelps surpassed it. She was the first woman athlete to win nine Olympic gold medals and is regarded as one of the most competitive athletes in the history of the Games.

3.Nikolay Andrianov (1972-1980)

Nikolay Yefimovich Andrianoy from the former Soviet was one of the greatest male gymnasts with a total medal tally of 15 (7 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze medals). He has won more Olympic medals than any other male gymnast in the history of the game.

4.Boris Shakhlin (1956-1964)

Boris Shakhlin from the former Soviet have won 13 Olympic medals in total (7 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze). He was the former Olympic Champion with the most Olympic medals until his fellow gymnast Nikolai Andrianoy surpassed him.

5.Edoardo Mangiarotti (1936-1960)

Edoardo Mangiarotti from Italy has won more Olympic medals than any other fencer with a total tally of 13 medals (6 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze). He was one of the most successful performers in sports history.

6. Ono Takashi (1952-1964)

Ono Takshi from Japan was an exceptional athlete with a total Olympic medals tally of 13 (5 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze). He was a role model for Japanese gymnasts and was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 1988.

7.Birgit Fischer (1980-2004)

Birgit Fischer from Germany was the youngest and oldest Olympic Canoeing-Kayaking Champion (ages 18 and 42) with a total medal tally of 12(8 gold and 4 silver). She is one of the most dominant athletes in her domain.

8.Kato Sawao(1968-1976)

Kato Sawao from Japan was one of the most successful Olympic athletes of all time with a total medal tally of 12(8 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze). He has won eight gold, more than any other male gymnast in history.

9. Jenny Thompson (1992-2004)

Jennifer Beth Thompson from the United States is an Olympic swimming legend with a total medal tally of 12(8 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze) which no other female swimmer achieved yet.

10.Isabell Werth (1992-2020)

Isabell Werth from Germany is an Olympic equestrian legend with a total medal tally of 12(7 gold and 5 silver). She holds the record for most Olympic medals won by an equestrian athlete.
