Meet Thermonator: The Futuristic Flame-Throwing Robot Dog

Everyone Loves Terminator, now we have Thermonator. Let’s see how much love it will get from us.

Thermonator is the world’s first flame-throwing robot dog, built by Throwflame, capable of blasting jets of fire up to 30 feet(10m).

Throwflame mentioned many diverse areas where it can be utilized like Wildfire control and prevention, ecological conservation, agricultural management, and Snow and Ice removal…this is interesting. You can imagine melting your driveway ice with fire.

We need to wait and check, if people would love to spend thousands of dollars to get their ice melted by this robot. However, there can be other great ways to utilize this product as mentioned above.

As per the company, it can be used for entertainment or special effects, imagine you are having a fire show on your 50th birthday.

It is available for the public to purchase in the US with a price tag of$9,420 with free shipping in the US. You can order at the Throwflame website.

The quadruped robot utilizes the advanced ARC Flamethrower mounted on its back for on-demand flame projection and can be controlled remotely with a control pad via Wifi and Bluetooth. It has a battery life of one hour. Laser sensors are installed to help navigate and avoid obstacles.

Are Flamethrowers Legal?

As per ThrowFlame, in the United States, flamethrowers are federally unregulated tools and are not considered firearms by the BATF, However, it’s the purchaser’s responsibility to ascertain that ownership and use do not violate any state or local laws or regulations.  Maryland is the only states that have restrictions on flame-wielding weapons – where owners must possess a Type 9, 10, or 11 Federal Firearms License – and California – where the device must fire less than 3 meters (10 feet).

A YouTube Video on ThrowFlame’s channel shows a Thermonator walking through a wooded area spewing flames and even jumping around.
