In the 2024 Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup Series, we will cover Team Netherlands with all the details below.
The Netherlands men’s national cricket team, “The Flying Dutchmen” has participated in the 1996, 2003, 2007, 2011, and 2023 Cricket ODI’s World Cups and played T20 cricket world cup in 2009, 2014, 2016, 2021 and 2022.
The European side pulled off the upset of the tournament in the last edition of the T20 Cricket World Cup in 2022 by defeating South Africa by 45 runs and knocking them out of the tournament. They finished the World Cup at their best position 8th in a T20 World Cup.
Can they repeat their performance and pull off another upset in this edition of the T20 World Cup?
The Netherlands have announced their 15-member squad with two reserve players.
Netherlands 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup Squad
Wicket-keeper batter Scott Edwards will lead the Dutch team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and Ryan Cook will be the head coach.

Netherlands Squad is:
Scott Edwards (c, wk), Bas de Leede, Tim Pringle, Kyle Klein, Michael Levitt, Saqib Zulfiqar, Aryan Dutt, Logan van Beek, Max O'Dowd, Paul van Meekeren, Viv Kingma , Sybrand Engelbrecht, Teja Nidamanuru, Vikram Singh, Wesley Barresi.
Reserve Members: Ryan Klein.
Roelof van der Merwe, a veteran all-rounder, and key batter Colin Ackermann were not able to make it to the list of 15. They were replaced by youngster Tim Pringle, left-arm-spinner, and aggressive opening batsman Michael Levitt in their squad.
Fred Klaassen and Daniel Doram were originally included in the Netherlands’ Men’s T20 World Cup squad, however, due to injuries, they were replaced by Kyle Klein, a right-arm fast bowler, and Saqib Zulfiqar, 27 years leg spin bowler. He is very active in the ODI setup and was part of the 2023 ODI World Cup team.
“All teams are allowed to make changes to their squad till 25 May without getting any approval from anybody, after that they need to get approval from ICC’s event technical committee to make any changes.”
Players to Watch in this World Cup from the Netherlands:
- Michael Levitt, was in the limelight when he scored 62 balls 135 against Namibia in the T20 tournament in Nepal, hitting 11 fours and 10 sixes in a knock.
- Bas de Leede an all-rounder is one of the key players in the team.
- Scott Edwards, with his leadership and wicketkeeping skills.
