Mohammad Nabi is an Afghanistan cricketer, born on 1 January 1985 in Afghanistan. (Some sources have different DOBs). He is a right-hand batsman and off-break bowler. He is an efficient attacking world-class all-rounder.

He has played a significant role in bringing Afghanistan cricket to the international arena. He played in Afghanistan’s first international ODI in April 2009 and also first test in March in June 2018. He was also part of Afghanistan’s first T20 match against Ireland in 2010 and played their first T20 World Cup.

Nabi scored his first median half-century in Afghanistan’s first ODI match against Scotland on his debut. He scored 58 runs and won the player of the match award.

He captained Afghanistan in 2013 and helped Afghanistan advance to the Super 10 stage in the 2016 ICC World T20. He also represented Afghanistan in the 2019 Cricket World Cup, captained the 2021 ICC Men T20 World Cup, and was part of the 2022 ICC Men T20 World Cup.

He was the first-ever player from Afghanistan to be bought in the IPL player auction in 2017 by Sunrisers Hyderabad followed by Rashid Khan. Kolkata Knight Riders bought him in February 2022.

In the 2024 IPL season, Nabi was part of the Mumbai Indians team.

He is part of the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup to be played in the West Indies and USA.
