The 88th Masters Tournament’s first round started a little bit late due to bad weather at Augusta National Golf Club. However, it was as exciting as expected by everyone.
Most of the eyes are on 48-year-old Tiger Woods, as he is seeking his sixth Masters title in his 26th Masters Tournament, the most of all time. Jack Nicklaus is the only player to win six Masters titles.
Last year he withdrew from the Masters due to some concern regarding his ankle and foot. We have to see if he can win another Green Jacket.
In the 2024 Masters, Tiger Wood displays his skills on the first day by earning a birdie on his first Par-4 opening hole of the tournament. However, bad weather and darkness extended his first round to Friday and will resume on Friday to finish the last five holes, however, he was 1-under through 13 holes and in a tie for 17th place.
The top 50 from the first and second rounds will make a cut to the third round.
Another player of interest is Rickie Fowler.
He won the Par 3 contest on Wednesday with carded 5-under 22.
The Par 3 Contest was contested on Wednesday, April 10, as per tradition, at Augusta National’s nine-hole par-3 layout.
So, everyone is wondering if he will again be at the receiving end due to the Par 3 bad luck curse. Whoever wins the Par 3, never win the Main event in the history of the game. In the first round, it seemed to be working as his performance was average, and 11 strokes behind the lead. (Bryson DeChambeau, -7).
