March Madness, the NCAA Women’s championship The Elite Eight round has been completed today and we have the lineup ready for the 5th round of Final Four which will be played on April 5.
The Final Four round will have a total of 2 games played on the same day on April 5. There are a total of six rounds in the tournament.
The first match of The Elite Eight day 2 was between No. 1 Iowa and No. 3 LSU.
Iowa defeated defending national champion LSU 94-87 in the Elite Eight on Monday to secure a place in Final Four.
This was a sweet revenge from the Hawkeyes for their last year loss at 2023 National Championship.
Once again, hero of the match was, none other than Iowa’s Caitlin Clark. She scored 41 points, seven rebounds and 12 assists. What a player she is, she is indeed a superstar.
She is now number one player with most 3PM in any NCAA tournaments.
The Hawkeyes had a good start in the beginning and take a lead. Tigers gave a good fight and Reese was leading Tigers from front, however, Clark brilliance outweigh all the efforts from The Tigers.
Iowa will play UConn on Friday night in Cleveland.
The last match of the Elite Eight round between No. 1 South Carolina and No. 3 UConn was a thriller on Monday.
No.3 UConn huskies beat No. 1 USC 80-73 and stormed into the Final Four round.
This is their 15th appearance in Final Four round in last 16 years.
Paige Bueckers led Huskies with 28 points to the next round, where they will meet No. 1 Iowa. However, Trojans gave a fight and Juju Watkins and McKenzie Forbes score 29 and 24 points for their team but at the end, it was not enough.
The Trojans will be proud of their performance in this NCAA tournament as they have reached the Elite Eight first time since 1994.
