March Madness, the 2024 NCAA Men’s Tournament is on with a round of The Sweet 16.
The NCAA men’s championship first two rounds have been completed successfully and we have 16 teams left for the race to the NCAA men’s championship.
The Sweet 16 round will have a total of 8 games divided into two days with four games on each day. There are a total of six rounds in the tournament.
Today is day 1 of The Sweet 16 round and four matches were planned for March 28.
The first match of the round of The Sweet 16 was between 2nd-seeded Arizona and 6th-seeded Clemson.
Clemson set history today after defeating Arizona 77-72. This is the first time Clemson entered The Elite Eight Round since 1980.
Schiefflin, Chase Hunter, and PJ Hall broke Arizona’s defense and scored 14, 18, and 17 points helping the Tigers to reach their Elite Eight group.
The defending Champion UConn sails through to the Elite Eight round with a dominant performance. Connecticut men’s basketball team is now just three wins away from defending its title.
They will be the first defending champion to reach the Elite Eight to defend it since 2007 when Florida achieved this milestone.
The top-seeded Huskies cruised to an 82-52 victory over no. 5 San Diego State in a Thursday night match.
The top-ranked North Carolina met 4th-seed Alabama in one of the most exciting and thrilling matches of the NBAA Men’s basketball championship.
Alabama gave an upset to North Carolina 89-87 and entered The Elite Eight Round. The star of the match Grant Nelson scored 24 points with 12 rebounds and five blocks and helped his team reach the next round.
This will be Alabama’s first entry in the Elite Eight Round since 2004.
Grant Nelson converted a three-pointer with 38 seconds remaining, and Alabama beat top-seeded North Carolina 89-87 on Thursday night to reach the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
The last match of the Sweet 16 round day 1 of the NCAA Men’s basketball championship was between 2nd-seeded Iowa State and 3rd-seed Illinois.
This was also an interesting and close match, however, in the end, Illinois sailed through to the round of Elite Eight by winning, 72-69.
Terrence Shannon Jr. finished with 29 points and helped his team reach the next round.
Illinois will meet No. 1 UConn on Thursday in the Elite Eight Round.
