The United States has signaled to everyone after testing a hypersonic cruise missile officially called the All-Up-Round AGM-183A Air-launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW), in the Pacific for the first time on March 17.
The test was conducted at the Reagan Test Site in the Marshall Islands, almost 1600 miles (2600 KM) to the east of Guam, as per the official statement.
Hypersonic vehicles can travel at greater than Mach 5 speed, or approximately 4,000 miles per hour. This high speed and ability to maneuver and change its altitude, make this weapon a deadly force that is difficult to detect and intercept in time and evade current missile defense systems.
Many other countries are also developing this kind of weapon like North Korea.
This new test from the US can be a deterrent for some countries. Time will tell.
