The 2024 Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup is just a month away and countries have started announcing their 15-member squad. Are You Set with All the Details?

This is the first time this sporting extravaganza will be held in the United States; however, matches will be played in the co-host West Indies too. This month-long tournament will kick off from Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas, Texas with first-time participants match between Canada and the United States on June 1.

A total of 55 matches will be played and the grand finale will be held in Barbados on June 29.

Eight-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt and India’s legendary cricketer Yuvraj Singh will be the ambassadors of this T20 World Cup.

ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Participating Teams

There will be a total of twenty teams, divided into four groups of five.

The top two teams from each group will move to a Super Eight phase, where the teams will be split into two groups of four. The top two in each group will then make their way to the semi-finals, followed by the final.

Teams are:

United States, Canada, India, South Africa, Pakistan, England, West Indies, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Namibia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Scotland, Uganda, Netherlands, Ireland, Oman, Papua New Guinea, and Nepal.

The matches will be played at three venues across the United States and at six venues across the West Indies.

United States Venues:

• Central Broward Park – Lauderhill, Florida, USA.
• Eisenhower Park – Nassau County, Long Island, New York, USA.
• Grand Prairie Stadium – Grand Prairie, Texas, USA.

West Indies Venues

How much is the prize money for the T20 Cricket World Cup?

ICC has announced prize fund of $11.25 million of the Men’s T20 world Cup. In the last event in 2022, there was a total of US$5.6 million. The winner will receive atleast $ 2.45 million and will be the highest amount in the T20 World cup history. The runners-up will earn at least $1.28 million, however semi-finalists will take home $787,500 each. Teams that do not advance past the second round will receive $382,500 each, and those finishing between ninth and 12th place will get $247,500 each. All participating teams will earn atleast $225,000. Additionally, every team will receive an extra $31,154 for each match won, excluding the semi-finals and finals.
